Recap: Races & Face-to-faces

It’s been a fast-paced, mad dash of a month at Boostmi—in the best way possible. And the summer’s only just begun.

The weekend of June 9th to 11th marked the 50th anniversary of the F1 Grand Prix in Montreal and it happened to be our second consecutive year with a presence at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Our booth at the track was large, bright, and bangin’, and our team of car enthusiasts more than rose to the occasion—AKA our biggest event of the year.

Promoting our app and top tier products to people from all over the globe is never as much fun as it is at this mega blow-out—and that’s saying a lot, because we ours is a labour of love. We truly had a blast.

Highlight: we also got the chance to witness the incredibly gifted British Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton drive home his success after winning his third Montreal Grand Prix—in a row. Pretty astounding.

And before we could even catch our breath post F1 action, we were already being swept up in the very justified hype that accompanies Movin’On, held this year from June 13-15. Presented by Michelin in partnership with the international business conference C2, this prestigious event is the international summit for action in sustainable mobility. Founded on a 20-year tradition, the event builds on inroads that industry, institutions, and governments have made toward a more sustainable future.

3000+ mobility stakeholders from more than 35 countries came together to discuss and advance the future of mobility. Together, they facilitated the flow of new ideas and worked on implementing solutions. The symposium experience was made up of brilliant keynote speakers, hands-on collaborative sessions, badass networking opportunities, and class-act tech exhibits.

Michael Bibeau, CEO of Boostmi, was interviewed and had the opportunity to share his knowledge on the topic of “disruptive” ideas and what they can potentially mean for discussions on progress. It was a true honour to participate.

Our team was also granted the incredible opportunity to experience the latest cutting edge vehicles and technologies―some never before witnessed―from the world’s leading mobility innovators. Among these opportunities: the latest fully autonomous vehicles by Tesla (!); two newly unveiled BMW models; the first fully electric driverless race car by Roborace, and the miraculous DevBot, their test mule; the zero-emission electric bus Proterra; and the combined luxury design and raw power of the new Sora electric superbike by Lito Green Motion. To name a few.

Mega highlight: the GreenGT H2, of course! The first electric/hydrogen racing car made it’s world première on the Paul Ricard circuit 2 summers ago, but seeing it again this time around was no less riveting. It emits only water and runs without a battery. It achieves the performance of a GT and possesses the autonomy of competition cars powered by internal combustion engines. Not to mention, it looks incredibly, incredibly cool. Yup. Innovation at its finest, we say.

Suffice it to say, it’s been a nonstop, action-packed month, and it’s not even close to over. Attendees at these events, as well as customers more generally, react very positively to our products and services because they’re convenient, extremely helpful, affordable, and accessible, no matter who you are or what kind of car you drive.
